Northbridge Systems is a small infrastructure engineering studio. We started in 2018 after years of building and operating platforms inside larger companies, and repeatedly seeing the same gap: teams that could write great application code but were carrying fragile, undocumented infrastructure that nobody fully understood.
We exist to close that gap. We design systems that are calm to operate, cheap to reason about, and easy to hand back to the team that owns them. We are deliberately small — a group of senior engineers rather than a pyramid — because the work rewards judgement more than headcount.
Good infrastructure is mostly invisible. The best compliment our work gets is that nobody thinks about it. We chase reliability, clear ownership and low cognitive load — and we treat "boring" as a feature, not an apology.
The team is distributed across the EU, with most engineers within one or two time zones of Central European Time. We work asynchronously by default and keep a short window of daily overlap for the things that genuinely need a conversation.
